How It Works
Lasers remove tattoos by breaking up the pigment colors with a high-intensity light beam. Black tattoo pigment absorbs all laser wavelengths, making it the easiest color to treat. Other colors can only be treated by selected lasers based upon the pigment color.
You should first schedule a consultation with a trained professional who can evaluate your tattoo and advise you on the process. The number of treatments you will need will depend on the age, size, and color(s) of your tattoo. The color of your skin, as well as how deep the tattoo pigment goes, will also affect the removal technique.
Treatment FAQs
How does it work?
The laser works by breaking down a part of the melanin into microscopic particles. This is later expelled by the body through its natural defense, circulation and excretory systems. It has the added benefit of removal of fine hair over face, which gets bleached by the laser and falls off.
How many sessions does it need?
Usually, 3-5 laser sessions every month would be required but results are seen after every session.
What can be expected?
- Nothing is 100%, but you can expect 70-90% clearance or lightening of your pigmentation.
- Very high success for clearance of acne marks.
- Prevention and treating of pimples and acne.
- Fairer and brighter skin.
- Complete clearance of tattoos (depending on ink color).
Is it painful?
You will sense a mild pricking sensation but it’s tolerable. However, numbing cream can be applied to decrease the pain.
Is there downtime?
The best part of this laser is that it is effective with no downtime! A mild pinkish flush might be present
for about 15 mins after the laser. You can put on make-up immediately after a laser treatment and go straight back to work!
